#3How to Save and Use money

“We buy things we don't need with money. We don't have to impress people we don't like.”

― Dave Ramsey

Majority of man thinks that money makes the world go round as the state needs to be able to thrive and survive but it says in 1 Timothy 6:10 that “the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.” Therefore, every individual should not love it; it must be used to our advantage. Getting by each day, saving, and being able to help the needy would then be possible.
Money  is a medium to use in change of goods and services. Moreover, there are five things we can do with money: Earn it, Save it, Spend it, Invest it, and Give it.  One of the five we should take seriously is to Save it. We save money to give something to others or to cope with future financial problems. We do not save money just to spend money on buying another pair of shoes, latest smartphone, new perfume, or watching a concert, or on different vises because it is not “saving” anymore. It is just waiting for our piggy bank to get full, then spend again our savings to something unnecessary. The root on wasting money indeed are gluttony, pride, insecurity, and attachment to the lifestyle obsession we had been used to.  For that reason, the things we should save for are: retirement, education, emergency, house, and in charitable works.
In the book of Matthew 6:19-20, it said; “Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal:  But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal:”It said that we should not just save money in this world, but to invest to the place we must heading for — in heaven. By using our savings on helping our, family, friends, and neighbors, our money is not wasted.  Furthermore, in the book of Proverb 21:13 and Mathew 5:42 it said;  Whoso stoppeth his ears at the cry of the poor, he also shall cry himself, but shall not be heard;” “Give to him that asketh thee, and from him that would borrow of thee turn not thou away.” These verses are examples on how should our heart deal with money and to exhibit the right way to use it. As with saving, giving should always be planned and regularly. Lastly, while saving is practical, prudent and wise, there is a fine line between saving and hounding. And in whether you save money in the savings account or trust fund, make sure that your faith and relationship with God grows along with it.
